AI in the battle against COVID-19: FruitPunch AI
The project changes the hospital workflow by reducing the time radiologists need to diagnose disease severity.
The global Covid epidemic and numbers of patients have forced us to alter the way we organize our hospital workflows. Armed with a dataset of X-ray images and the motivation to apply AI for Good, the FruitPunch AI for Health team developed a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). After extensive training, GAN takes a new X-ray image and outputs the corresponding mask with remarkable accuracy. This tool greatly reduces the time needed by radiologists to diagnose disease severity, allowing more time to treat the patient.
