Ruta, a loom for making Sense of Industrial Weaving

The Ruta project is aimed at making sense of the complexity of weaving. We want to make the ‘programming of the material’ less abstract and help novices develop understanding and feeling for what weaving actually entails. Programming the warp is an important factor in the complexity of weaving and is essential in the process of designing the material structure. How can we make a loom that is also a ‘sense-making tool’?
