Tech United: Soccer and care robots with a vision for the future

With a shortage of care personnel and a rapidly growing elderly population, robots can lend a helping hand. Tech United is a multidisciplinary team of (old) TU/e students, PhDs and employees involved in robotics. At the RoboCup annual world championship, Tech United participates with two teams; one with autonomous soccer robots who won multiple times, and the second in the @Home competitions with service robots HERO, AMIGO and SERGIO. Service robots like HERO execute several tasks like taking something out of the kitchen and recognizing people, helping the elderly function independently for longer.
